Some regions don't ask for a visa at all — because their member countries have agreed not to require one from each other. Here are the major visa-free blocs travelers rely on.
"Visa-free" is nationality-specific — it almost always describes an agreement between your passport's country and the destination, not a blanket rule. The blocs below are the best-known visa-free arrangements: they mostly benefit citizens of the member countries themselves, though several (like the Schengen Area and the US Visa Waiver Program) also extend short, visa-free stays to a long list of other nationalities.
Always double check: visa-free access depends on which passport you hold. Two travelers heading to the same country can face completely different requirements. Confirm your own eligibility on the destination's official immigration site before booking.
